Warning: Spoilers
This game partly defined my childhood and this game fills my nostalgia as well! Since I've played both the PS1 and GBA versions, I'll cover both.

PS1 - This game is pretty good. This was a part of my childhood. The story is partly generic and cuts out the main story of the movie which is honestly surprising and not good. The levels are also kind of generic but I can at least tell they were trying. The Amusement Park levels are the most vibrant and beautiful! The enemies are basically also generic but relate to the levels' themes. The bosses are... ehhhh mixed. Your main attacks are a butt bounce and throwing pies, and hamburgers restores your health. The Phantom virus.. oh boy.. this final boss is HORRIBLE!! Practically almost impossible!! I always lose a life on the 2nd and (but mostly) 3rd phase because the attacks are so fast, quick, and cheap that it's honestly hard to win.. but I won.. ONCE, and I honestly can't repeat it again! The ending to the game, is also lackluster and still isn't like the movie. At least the game is still nostalgic to me and I still enjoy it from time to time.

GBA - This game is strangely different than the PS1 version. This game actually follows the movie and has the infamous laser that takes the gang into the video game. The cool part of this version is that you can play as the whole gang whereas in the PS1 version, you just play as Scooby or Shaggy. The levels are reduced although. Instead of 10 zones with 3 levels in each zone, it's now just 6 levels.. which isn't much. You also get to fight villains of the gang's past which is also cool.. but the main attack is awful. You just throw this green goop that makes enemies freeze which I suppose is useful but it's such a lackluster attack, ah heck, I can't even call it an attack because it's honestly not. You also have a disguise which also works against enemies. Also, don't lose all your hp, or the character you're playing as, will get taken by the virus and disappear until the very end of the game.. OH I'M SERIOUS!! Also, the main theme plays for the main title, main menu, the Rome level, and then the Rome boss. I know it's a good theme but really, you can't play anything else than the theme. Also, needless to say is I didn't make it to the virus boss but seeing it, I wouldn't be able to beat this because enemies are literally copied and pasted everywhere! Also, the ending sees you picking the suspect and this is the biggest flop I've ever seen! Spoiler: You may think it's Bill but the game thinks it's the professor... WHAT?!?!?! Okay, so maybe the people didn't remember how the movie went and I'm honestly in shock from that horrible guess.

Anyways, I think the PS1 version is more superior due to the fact that it's fun and at least THAT version has more than 6 levels, bosses from the movie (excluding Charlie the robot), and it's just better, not by much, but it's better.

PS1: 7/10 GBA: 4/10.
