"A tough-guy movie that is actually a metaphor for real life"
eiggam2858 December 2004
Twisted entertainment? At first blush, yes. It is a skin flick of the Clockwork Orange genre. Three booze motivated "bad boys" including Carl and Gil bent on cheering up the broken-hearted Jeff, who was dumped by his girl. The three carry out escapades at a local laundry.More than dirty laundry is aired."Bad boys" begin by engaging patrons in chitchat(often personal, hurtful chitchat). As the reaction of the patrons turns to dislike then fear, the abuse escalates to physical attacks. Carl has a knack for picking up on victims'Achilles heels. The cast of victims includes a bawdy call girl; a lesbian couple; a former athlete(now a paraplegic in a wheelchair);an ornery midget and a few non-macho men. Everyone is a target. Nothing is sacred. Carl's hunger to expose everyone's weakness tests the limits of all, including his own buddies.

All in all,it's really a "dude movie",though beneath the abusive tough-guy story, the conclusion of the film makes you see that who is tough, and who is weak is not always evident. You will see who is really washed, dried and SPUN out.

It's a dude (not prude)DVD. There is a 30-minute trailer of between scene interviews. Think twice about your next visit to the laundromat. I hear Carl is out on parole.

WASH DRY and throw into Goodwill Box!
boris-2611 February 2006
WASH, DRY drives you up the wall with aimless tough guy talk. Its video box heralds 85 minutes of watching three over-grown juvenile delinquents, called "The Three Ass-Keteers". The video box also promises that they become involved with "impotence, homosexuality, molestation" and much more. Basically, we watch these three hoodlums getting drunk and venomous at a nearby all-night Laundromat. They torment customers, drift off into "tearful" flashbacks and have sex with hookers in the rest room. When it seems director/writer Dan Patton runs out of material, he has policemen rush in and conveniently arrest the "Ass-Keteers". WASH, DRY seems like a homage to films about fashionable, but dangerous anti-social folk, like PULP FICTION or CLOCKWORK ORANGE.

Great Film!
shera-martin28 March 2007
I tend to watch films that aren't straight out of Hollywood. They seem so boring and just full of naked girls and explosions. I know that perhaps I am a walking cliché who watches a lot of Lifetime movies, but I would take a good story over all that other junk any day.

So, when I found this film in the bargain bin at my local video rental store it looked pretty interesting. I'm so glad I bought it. They obviously didn't have a big budget, but the story was interesting about these three guys who hold a bunch of people hostage in a laundromat.

The guys have some major issues they have to deal with (I mean if you are going to go to a laundry place and hold people hostage that's pretty much a given about the issues) and during the course of the film we find out not only about them, but the other people who are stuck there during their reign of terror. I especially could identify with the girl who has cancer.

CLASIC!

What a piece of work! I laughed, I cried, I missed my mom. This romp of mischief leads me to believe that 1+1=3 and the zoo is a nice place for animals to live. When I left the theatre I felt as though I would never sleep again. I have been discussing this movie with others and we all agree it is a must see, unless you only like good movies. Remember, sometimes we need reassurance, and this is just the film to give it to you. If your days are sad, and weeks are bad, and you've had a crummy year, wait a while stop and smile cause wash dry spin out is here.
