In my 30s and this show still makes me laugh
bwbw8626 June 2021
Rewatching this show on Disney+ as an adult has brought me a surprising amount of laughs, and I find myself more engaged in the show and characters than I normally would any other Disney Channel Original. Raven is absolutely hilarious and her physical comedy is truly out of this world. Really, all the characters have their moments. Growing up I remember thinking Chelsea was really funny as the airhead BFF. All in all, there is really something special about this show. The writers put a lot of heart into each episode, and it shouldn't be written off as just a silly kids show.

raven

i think that raven is a good role model for young girls. shes not the skinny petite cheerleader type(but shes not fat) and not all young girls are either. this factor tells teens that they don't have to be bone skinny to be successful in acting and they can make their dream come true because raven. i think Hollywood needs to get over the fact that not all people can be jessica simpson and take them cause they actually have talent and are fit for the role in the movie. raven has as much talent has any actor thats big, shes has better vocals than hilary duff and Lindsay lohan and has just as much acting skills, she understands that she don't need to damage her body and go anorexia like lohan but can stay a healthy talented young woman and still be a role model for girls.

SEASONS RATED // This show is dank af
Boyofthemoon24 February 2020
S1 - (7/10) boring. Some Situations are funny but it's too soon. S2 - (8/10) Surprisingly grows more, and has some of the most DANK dialogue I've seen! That's a good thing, as it brings random humor. S3 - (8.1/10) Nooice 👌 So many episodes and adventures to choose from. S4 - (7.6/10) Idk why but this season was a little boring, nice story arc yet weak one-off episodes. Raven is not as funny as she use to be, but don't get me wrong, it's still VERY watchable and like able. Over all it's a good show. Just ignore plot holes and mistakes, I mean it is a old Disney show. Yet it's very iconic with funny situations and episodes with 2 storylines happening at the same time , quotable quotes, FUNNY lovable characters. Very family - friendly show to watch with friends and the fam (8.1/10)

My prediction, its a good show.

Thats So Raven. Kids will love to watch this show, but its entertaining for adults too. 'Raven Baxter' (Raven Symone) is a bubbly teenager who loves to make her own clothes, have fun with her friends Chelsea (Anneliese van der Pol) and Eddie (Orlando Brown). Raven also has the power of 'Phsycic Visions'.... Although most people would find these easy to handle, Raven will always find some way to get into a 'bad or embarrassing situation' when she misinterprets the meaning of her visions. This show is very funny. It has an interesting storyline and great actors to play the characters. Its an easy show to watch and I would anytime!

Not bad for a Disney show
TheLittleSongbird3 July 2011
I used to love the Disney Show, but now because of stuff like the High School Musical Series and Hannah Montana airing I can barely stomach it. That's So Raven for me while not perfect was one of their better situation comedies. In later years the writing did become less clever and funny, the story lines got really predictable and throughout the show Eddie had moments when he was annoying. However, the production values were pretty good and I enjoyed the fashions, while the music and theme tune were fun as well. For quite some time the show was helped by some witty and clever writing, nicely constructed stories that benefited from a great concept and good characters, Raven, Corey and Victor being my favourites. The acting is surprisingly decent for a Disney show as well, Raven-Symone has a lot of infectious charm about her. Overall, not bad. 7/10 Bethany Cox

The funniest and only Disney channel show i watch!
aj_ajc_aj7 August 2009
This is literally the only Disney channel show i watch. It is much more hilarious than all these other cheesy shows. including its spin-off Cory in the house. You can never get to many "oh snap's!" or "ya nasty's" its just so funny and always has you laughing. That's So Raven is not just a show for kids or teens or kids and teens it is a Show that the whole family can watch and laugh there guts off. Not only does That's So Raven keep you laughing but it also teaches our children life morals that we all need to know. Disney needs to spend more time playing reruns or even bringing the show back instead playing all of this Hannah Montana and Jonas brothers crap. Great show Raven! As for Disney change is definitely not always good!

It was funny for it's time.
nakomiah20 February 2020
I enjoyed the first season more than any other seasons. I don't know why people are so critical of the show. I mean it's pretty simple; a teen with psychic abilities that she often misinterprets. Each character on the show are quirky in their own way and the show never fails when it comes to making me laugh. love it or hate it. I'm watching the reruns on Disney+

That's So Raven got old a long time ago
Dr_Wholigan3 October 2006
I enjoyed the show at first. Then I noticed something, all episodes have the same plots. "She has a vision, she has to keep it from happening or she has to make it happen by dressing up in an outfit she made" It got old 65 episodes ago. It better not make it pass 100 episodes.

Another thing I don't like about this show is that a lot of the time she gets away with what she does, and doesn't get in trouble like in the Christmas episode where she looked in her Christmas box and then she needed to buy a new one. No one ever found out, Thats why I like The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, try naming an episode they didn't get caught for what they did. In other words: watch suite life of Zack and Cody, not thats so raven.

Still the funniest Disney show
dilloncamp11 August 2021
After all these years and all these shows, Raven is still the funniest of all.

Been watching this show for 20 years now and it still never manages to stop being funny.

Unlike most of these other horribly cringy shows that try to force the comedy down your throat, Raven doesnt need to force it, it's just so damn funny.

Raven-I guess she's OK but....
herpelclari29 January 2007
Warning: Spoilers
I guess this show is OK! It does make you laugh sometimes but sometimes it is really stupid! Raven-she's too Fat! I mean look at her! It's like she doesn't fit in her pants! The rest of the show is fine! But I think sometimes they overdo it! Sometimes they make it too dramatic and serious! They also sort of overdo Chelsea! I mean someone who like is Nature is fine but in this one episode they were almost not gonna be friends anymore because Raven used REAL fur for her design!!! I mean.... I am sorta happy they canceled the show... The point is very creative though! It must have been hard to think of a teen psychic show! It is not always the same! You know this teenager doing this stuff! I also think Cory is fat too! It is OK though! It is something you watch when there is nothing else to watch!!! It does make you laugh but it would NEVER be my favorite show! Raven is kinda talented but I don't think Eddie is at all! Well...

Some crazy girl named Raven has the power to briefly see the future, and gets her and her friends in trouble.
Ryaniskool16 December 2006
This strangely repetitive series seems never ending, and pointless, as there are a million different situations in which they can put a girl with foresight into, each one as stupid as the next. This preppy teen bopping girl is more annoying than a toddler on Prozac. Between her high pitched squeals, her accentuated acting, and her pointless "jokes", this show quickly drains down to nothing more than a hopeless shell of a series. BONUS FUN: Listen to the opening song... It basically describes the rest of the season, so you no longer have to watch it! If you're a hyper, sugar high teenager, or a child, this show is perfect for you! If you're a nauseated adult who can spot repetitiveness, stay away!!!

In the only fairness I will give to the show, it does have its moments.

Best Disney Channel show ever.
nicetryjan14 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I am 25 and rewatching it, thanks to Disney Plus. And I still love it as much as I did when it was still airing on television.

The show deals with topics that are still relevant today, such as racism, divorce, troubles with friends, etc etc.

The final season, when she gets the job at the fashion office, is by far the weakest. It's still funny, but it pales in comparison to the first three seasons. The series finale deals with Raven finding cigarettes in Corys backpack. The finale could have done a bit more.

Quite Lovable
CriticGirl917 March 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Though I consider this show as the best from Disney Channel, I cannot give it a higher rating considering how the storyline declined, jokes became stale and the situations became louder with every season.

The show's concept makes for a hilarious sitcom on how the protagonist misinterprets her every peek into the future. The lead actor, Raven is adorable and only she could have pulled off the character so effortlessly. Orlando Brown is my second favorite. All the actors do a good job and most characters including some of the teachers are hilarious.

I wish the show would have retained it's original charm and not have been marred by the effort to include overbearing and annoying sequences in the later seasons. None the less, the first season makes for repeat viewing.

This is the worst show I have ever seen....
michael-gillanders113 September 2006
This is the worst show I have ever seen. I cannot even bear to have it on in the background. My mother loathes it. My sister watches it, literally, just to annoy me- even though she ends up wanting to kill herself by the end, too. I don't have a *clue* how this is one of Disney's most popular shows- I guess it goes to show some people will watch any old crap. Raven, the lead, is a good role model- not being skinny-to-the-bone- and that is the one and only thing I respect about this show. Speaking of the lead, she's inexplicably annoying and her voice grates on me. Her friend, Chelsea, is so stupid, but it's not the Joey-Tribbiani-type stupid, that is hilarious, but the annoying I-don't-know-anything-look-at-the-stupid-white-girl stuff of nightmares. The other characters are so boring I can't be bothered to write about them. The premises of the stories are ridiculous, and sometimes make little sense at all. Nevertheless, it does make me laugh- that embarrassed I-can't-believe-I'm-watching-this-crap laugh that so often kicks in.

This is one of those shows that you either love-or-loathe, I guess. My family and I hate it with the intensity of a thousand suns.

Surprisingly hilarious
Smoothpants17 February 2003
I figured for a Disney Channel production, this show would be just amusing, like "Lizzie McGuire" (a show I like, but I get no real hearty laughs out of it). "That's So Raven" always seems to make me chuckle. But what I am most impressed with is Raven-Symone's knack for physical comedy, and willingness to make herself look ridiculous (but not in a demeaning way) to get the laugh. Almost like Lucille Ball in a sense.

The premise of this show is pretty cool too. Young psychic has INCOMPLETE visions, but acts on them anyway, not knowing the actual result of her actions. The writing is fairly standard comedy, but is sometimes inspired. There was a scene where Raven had a vision of a parachutist crashing through one of the school windows. So she and her friend rush there to get a story for the school newspaper. When the parachutist actually crashes through, he asks Raven "So you knew I was going to crash through this window?" When she replies yes, he asks again, "SO WHY DIDN'T YOU OPEN IT?" I thought that was clever. I enjoy watching this show, and I cannot believe that is little Olivia from "The Cosby Show". Good show.

It's Okay But It's Not Funny
mirosuionitsaki221 July 2007
Warning: Spoilers
I used to watch this show when it used to be on the air, unless it still airs. But I have to say that this show tries hard to be funny, and it never works. Once in a while, I get a laugh but not very much. It has too much physical comedy and that just gets tiring. The actors aren't very good at physical comedy so they should have just use verbal comedy such as insulting. Just because it's a children's show doesn't mean that a child will be offended because someone verbally said something funny.

After the comedy, that leaves everything else. I love the plot of the episodes and I love the plot of the whole series. She can see into the future, she gets visions once in a while. The theme song tells the whole story. One of my favorite episodes is when Raven goes camping with Chelsea, and Raven overpacks bringing with her too many electronic devices, even a microwave. But in the end, a skunk ruins it all and have everyone forced out of their tents.

I recommend this show for children, not very much for teens.

It's okay-just one more step to good.
efrainojeda1320 January 2007
I have to say, I liked this show. It started airing when i was in the 2nd grade. And I am in middle school now. Before, I was really bored of the show because I was too young. But now I love it. But it has been the same for years. Raven has a vision, she sees a problem, she has to fix it, then she does something even more terrible, and then she fixes it by coincidence. I say the new season needs to have some surprises. Like how the Raven gets visions. Some new people that stay with Raven and her friends. Some drama. Plus, I think it would be cooler if more people knew about Raven's visions. All I'm saying is the show might be less boring if there were more surprises in it.

so unrealistic
misscutie0430 June 2006
The thing I really don't like about this show is that it is so unrealistic. I mean, come on. When are you going to find a psychic in high school who is trying to keep it a secret? Also it kind of creeps me out when raven acts sort of psycho sometimes. Sometimes I don't understand why Raven has any friends at all! She can be really snobby. She always gets in fights and messes everything up with her friends and other people. She goes and acts all nice and crap around guys and then goes out with them and is all rude and acts, like I already said, like a psychopath. This show is only useful if you are a teen psychic trying to act like a moron.

Amazing show, wonderful writing, thought provoking themes
outtapocketliv6 December 2019
It's very hard to find a show that you can enjoy and laugh at the same way, if not more, than you did when you were a kid. I'm a 90s baby and That So Raven was one of my favorites. I recently got Disney+ and have found myself rewatching every episode. Not only have I been able to sit through each episode, but the themes and plots that each show would revolve around were so ahead of their time yet haven't been seen since. It had serious material delivered with genuine humor and acting that no one on Disney Channel has really been able to compete with. Raven's parents were the best and her brother Corey, and her two friends Eddie and Chelsea...all rate gems and incredibly talented for their age. I recommend to watch as an adult now and for your kids. You will not be disappointed!

One of my favorite shows from my childhood, but I have issues with Chelsea's character
eclipsehouse5 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I love this show because of its humor and memorable characters. The casting choices were perfect for this show, they were all funny and had good chemistry. This show would've been nothing without Raven and Chelsea especially as they are definitely the funniest characters on the show. However I do have a problem with Chelsea being flanderized into a girl who's so unintelligent, that by season 3 you wonder how the other characters aren't more concerned about her wellbeing. I really hate that whenever these shows have a "dumb" character they're always too stupid to function or they get flanderized into someone who's too stupid to live.

There's just one problem......
tyranid_slayer23 May 2007
The story lines are always the same. My little sister watches anything on Disney channel. Thats so raven isn't her favourite show but she still watches it.

The story is basically about a girl called raven who is physcic and can see in to the future. And for a show that focuses on seeing into the future the show is very predictable. The comedy is supposed to ensue but the stories are always the same. So basically Raven sees bad future, tries to change it funny stuff is meant to happen but fails to deliver. One thing i have noticed about this show is that it does touch on some serious issues like smoking and racism. But the show is racist in it's own discreet way. Notice that it is a black dominated show and the white female character Chelsea is so stupid. The show is almost trying to insinuate that black are smarter than white people. This is also true for the spin-off series Cory In The House were newt is white and is incredibly dim-witted.

This show is very predictable and gets incredibly repettative you might just give up.

The Best Disney Sitcom Ever still Rakes in 2 Million Viewers, and needs A Movie
Tru-Dru22 June 2009
"That's So Raven" is one of the best Shows to ever be on Disney. TSR had lessons to learn with her Ability Raven Baxter was able to get into, and out of Trouble. Not only that it was one of the most Wacky, and Hilarious Sitcoms ever out. I always thought that there should be A Movie to it because Despite it's low-Ratings "Hannah Montana", "Lizzie MaGuire", and "Even Stevens" got A Movie; now "Wizards Of Waverly Place" is getting A Movie, and they left out "The Suite Life Of Zack & Cody", and "Suite Life On Deck" which are also doing good. "Cory In The House" was A joke as far as Spinoffs goes the Movie if it happens. This Series should be Syndicated on BET, SCI-FI Channel, Nickelodeon, and other Various Networks as it deserves the Untmost Respect for doing as well as it did.

If you are Interested in Supporting the Movie Petition for this Series you can go here: http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/RavenMovie

Stupid
xxRebeccaxx13 July 2006
That's So Raven is a stupid show. Raven talks far too loudly, and when the show is finished I have a sore head. And it isn't because I have the volume up to loud. The best thing about the show would probably have to be the character Chelsea. She is by far the funniest character in the whole programme. The story lines are very predictable and some of the jokes aren't even that funny. I could watch a whole episode of That's So Raven and not laugh. It has a laugh track.

It is OK, for smaller children who like to laugh at a teenage girl who is jumping around the place stupidly but not really for teenagers/adults who will just find it annoying.

Do yourself a favour and do something better with your time!

Clever and witty.
shadow_empress3 March 2003
I've only just watched "That's so Raven", but I can tell that it will be on the air for a few years to come. The script is witty, and Raven has definite screen presence. It's suitable for younger children, as the dialogue should be fairly comprehendable for any age, and most of the jokes can be enjoyed by nearly any age. Good job, writers of "That's so Raven"!
