A great, classical, and sexy fighting game.

I remembered the time when when I was a kid in 1990.

My uncle would used to go to the arcades and would tell us about every game that he played. But when he began talking about "Pit-Fighter", it never got to me until last year when I surfed through the internet and accidentally saw it on "ScrewAttack's Top 10 Worst Fighting Games".

And to tell you the truth, the arcade version of Pit-Fighter was among the best version of all; while the console versions like the Lynx and genesis versions were god awful.

But not only that, it's the three shirtless hunks that I admire the most and out of these three fine combatants, Ty is what I play with because he's the CUTEST!!! Overall, it's not bad and I love it.

This was the first video game I played whose characters were computerized version of actual people, bringing an unusually realistic look. Furthering the realism is that game at most doesn't ascribe superhuman traits to its subjects. The only version of reference for me is the one released to video arcades. Players could chose between Buzz, the body builder, Ty, the kick-boxer, and Kato, whose specialty is unclear. The 'points' used in the game are money, with the premise being that each fighter is competing for cash in a no-holds-barred gladiatorial forum. Players must be aware of hostile characters from the crowd who can harm them, and themselves be harmed. Power pills are available in certain rounds to maximize offense. Knives, chairs, and drums are sometimes available. In between fatal competition is a bonus round where the player competes against a mirror of their fighter to win extra money. Damage in the bonus round doesn't affect the life values. The goal of the game is to unseat the Masked Warrior at the end to earn the title of Champion.

Pretty cool game ahead of it's time

Warning: Spoilers
This was a little before Mortal Kombat came onto the scene as the first legitimate violent game to hit the console systems and show blood and guts.

I had this on my Sega Genesis system at the time, the Genesis could do no evil as SuperNes. The game was inspired I believe by the Arcade game of the same name by Atari.

It featured some live graphics and sound mingled in the game, so you actually heard digitized voices (like Mortal Kombat) being put in the game.

The game was pretty violent, choosing from a wrester, a kickboxer or a black belt artist you fought your way to the top , making money and knocking down punks along the way.

The soundtrack was pretty much heavy metal mixed with rock and it worked well.

Graphics at the time of the 16bit wars was not that bad.

It stands as a bit of a cult favorite like Mortal Kombat, Altered Beast, and other popular games around the same time frame.

Worth a look if you ever wanted to revisit gaming history.
