SPOILERS!!!! Lorna Tolentino as the main character plays Louela, a young lass from a small town in Batangas who had a child out of wedlock where the father of the child abandons them. Louelas' mother who's also a victim of the same circumstance cannot accept the same mistake happening again to her daughter, forced Louela to give up her child for adoption. Looking for a better future, Louela seek her fortune by working as a Domestic Helper (maid) in Hong Kong mostly taking care of other people's children.
She comes back home after some years abroad to her mother who still treats her with indifference and disdain. Longing for her son, she begins an ardent search to find him with the help of a childhood sweetheart. After some time tracing her son's whereabouts she thought she finally found her son (a boy named Conrad) who is still living in a hospice run by nuns. But in a cruel twist of fate the official records show that her son is not Conrad but another child who was adopted years before. In the end she founds out the truth about what happened to her son when she finally met a kindly woman who rescued Louelas' son from the cruel adoptive parents, but it's too late, her son died before she even got the chance to meet him again. It's a sad and moving story of mother child relationship, and the coming into terms of Louela to her mother and her grieving and an act of redemption for her child she has desparately longed for.
