But Rekha is good...
Peter_Young22 February 2011
So, another movie in which Rekha gets to play a modern Jhansi Ki Rani, something that is similar to the superb thriller Khoon Bhari Maang. I'm not going to even think of comparing the two movies. This would be a great insult to Khoon Bhari Maang, in which Rekha delivered one of her finest performances. But she is still good.

This terrible movie is another example of the pathetic films Hindi cinema used to churn out in the 1990s. The heroine is a pretty lady whose father gets killed and she herself is made to be crazy by the cruel villains. This summary in itself makes me laugh. But Rekha is good.

The asylum sequences are horrible and quite unintentionally funny. We do not know what she is suffering from, we only know that she is mad, or at least pretends to be mad. The fact that someone is admitted there without any prior examination is laughable. But Rekha is good.

The supporting cast includes Saif Ali Khan, who tries his best, Madhoo, who is just the regular bimbo who lacks any appeal, and a trio of typical fairytale villains played by Danny Denzongpa, Prem Chopra, and Dalip Tahil. They are awful, but Rekha is good.

The music by Anand Milind is average and downright forgettable. The songs are aimed at the young pair to portray their boring romantic saga. The song clips are even worse. But Rekha is good.

The movie includes some awful action sequences, in which the heroine is given an opportunity to destroy her opponents. She is presented as braver than those action heroes of the 1980s, who could fight anyone and remain without a single pimple. But Rekha is good.

A 44-year-old Rekha looks amazingly beautiful and seems to be unaffected by the abysmal proceedings. She leads the film and rises above this crappy script like only she can. She has a lot of fun playing her role, particularly the moments of insanity, and more than anything she enjoys the moments of sweet revenge. Sad she was a part of such a disastrous movie, and I highly recommend any person, even Rekha fans, to avoid it.

Warning: Spoilers
Rekha is amazing in this movie. Its like watching a Charlies Angel. Rekha's character,Varsha, loses her father to murder. The killers are three people her father worked with who want his factory. Then what happens is that Rekha, his daughter takes over the business and then the killers come up with another plan. After being falsely accussed of being mentally ill, she gets put into a mental institution. When she escapes, with the help of Raj, played by Saif Ali Khan, the killers meet their fate one by one. Rekha and Saif Ali Khan make a great team.
