Late Night telly. What do we get these days? BBC News 24, Super Casino, infomercials and ITV Night Screen. Utter rubbish.
For years we had no night time entertainment at all – everything stopped after the broadcast of the National Anthem and then it was testcard time. In the late 80s, TV producers figured out they had something to gain from late night/all night television and started in earnest to produce or import programmes especially for us night owl insomniacs.
What ensued was a golden era of half excellence/half crap which kept us ‘entertained’ throughout the wee small hours. Most, if not all, of these shows are defunct now and sitting in an archive gathering dust. Please enjoy the list and remind me of further late night television memories.
