Beautifully animated

A landmark film in the technique of ray-tracing, using computer animation to realistically show light reflecting on glass, in water and in a 3-D landscape. This short film depicts a character journeying from a dark two-dimensional world, jumping through space into a brightly-lit 3-D universe in which it begins as a fish in water and morphs into a flying creature that reaches land, a metaphor for the evolution of life on Earth. The character then takes a journey through a gorgeously rendered world of glass orbs, shimmering lakes and finally a hall of mirrors. The character ends his journey into the world of light by making one final transformation, becoming a full-color being and turning into the letters of the company which was responsible for the film, APOLLO. All in all a beautiful little film which showcased the possibilities of animation done entirely on computers.
