One of the earlier short made by Jorg Buttgereit well known for Nekromantik. This short was a big ode to Boris Karloff. Just don't take it seriously because it looks rather stupid in some ways but again you can see that their laid a big future in the hands of Buttgereit and his companions.
The effects used are from simple, just done with lighting in a cellar to stop motion in the last ode to Godzilla. It's all funny to see and outdated but the stop motion is worth picking up.
Avalaible on some Nekromantik releases.

This is not quite one short but actually a collection of REALLY short shorts. And they are all hilarious!!! I enjoyed everything: from Captain Berlin's return, Frankenstein & Mummies, even a Godzilla-like creature. I understand that this thing can be appreciated by very few people, and I am glad I am one of them and that I spotted all shorts of Jorg Buttgereit in one VHS (HOT LOVE)
This is a satire. Who needs effects or acting when you're making fun of horror / hollywood cliches? The sound/ music is really good.

this is a series of early films by jörg buttgereit, writer director of Nekromantik. These are really bad. they manage to make attack of the killer tomatoes look like it cost $30million and was directed by stanley kubrick! who needs a plot?! this is what leaps to mind when we watch The Mummy which opens with the line "the mummy has found some reason to awaken" and then he "naturally falls in love with some strange woman"....naturally. this is as bad as home film making gets. although, the music is excellent for the most part, the sound effects are dreadful too. especially in gazorra and cannibal girl. pathetic but oh so much fun. highly recommended, 1 out 10.

Horror Heaven (1984)
** 1/2 (out of 4)
Early short from director Jorg Buttgereit has him playing "host" and reading to us some horror stories. We then see the stories play out and these stories include a couple on a mummy, a Frankenstein tale, one dealing with a Godzilla like creature and the final one is about a cannibal woman. Fans of the director will certainly want to check this film out, although at 22-minutes it wears out its welcome towards the end of the picture. For the most part this is a young filmmaker just having fun and creating a very low-budget movie and I admit that I had some fun with it. The mummy movies were the highlight of the picture but the Godzilla sequences, with its stop motion, was also good for what it was. I mean, the budget was obviously low and it shows but that doesn't take away from any of the charm.
