This was "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's and Debra's final appearance with the WWE until the SmackDown! event before Backlash 2000, as he was run over by a car (later revealed to be driven by Rikishi) during the event. The Big Show replaced Austin in the main event. The Big Show was also in a 4-on-1 match against the Big Boss Man's team; he was originally slated to team up with Kaientai (Taka Michinoku & Funaki) and The Blue Meanie, but he attacked them on Sunday Night Heat prior to the PPV because he wanted to go alone into the match. This was also the televised debut of Kurt Angle.
First WWF PPV appearance for Kurt Angle.
The Big Show defeated Big Boss Man's team in a mere 1:27, making it the shortest elimination match in Survivor Series history. Big Show chokeslammed and pinned Mideon at the 18 second mark, then did the same to Prince Albert at the 30 second mark, punched, bodyslammed and chokeslammed Viscera at the 55 second mark, and Big Boss Man got himself counted out at 1:27.
First WWE Pay Per View match for Shawn Stasiak, Joey Abs, Pete Gas, Rodney, Terri Runnels and Kurt Angle.
Only WWE PPV match for Mae Young.
