Don't even bother watching this terrible movie. Thug life is one thing that it was not.

I rented this movie expecting a regular, thug/gang life movie like many others that had scenes of gunbattles, hip-hop personality and regular drama and criminal activity. But even besides that, this movie sucked. It had no plot, the acting was terrible, and it was pointless. It was like a film on Afghan clans fighting pointlessly over run-down territory, except for this movie had no action whatsoever and it was not funny at all, so its not an action or comedy film. What is it then? I don't know, but don't see this horrible movie. Rent Menace 2 Society or Juice instead.

This movie is absolutely awful. It looks as if the director came up with the idea, grabbed some buddies, and shot it on a vhs camera. Absolutely awful. The acting, directing, kung fu, and plot are awful. Awful movie.

It was late and I was flippin' channels on cable. I caught this crap right from the beginning! I thought I recognized Cullen, and the old Transco Tower. Then I thought I saw the old Allen Parkway! What is this. I perked up for a minute, and then why oh why did I start to pay attention to the "acting"? It was a terrible. The kung fu was pitiful, the plot was even worse. It was so stupid I had to call my best friend to see if she was watching the same crap I was, and lo and behold!!!! My friends, she was witnessing the same thing I was!! It was amazingly awful what this director has never to record this for prosperity. This movie is so damn dumb I hope no one ever takes it as a serious slice of real thug life....this was so sad. I did recognize some homies in the film though. Don't be mad cause your girl didn't like it. We are still cool! I hope y'all got paid!

i had nothing better to do one night so i rented this movie,it started of great but then ,the corny martial arts,with bad sound effects,the Lady Of Rage character sounds as if she is reading all the time , well so does most of the cast

also how is it that the gang leader seems to have no real martial arts skills ,but can beat down everyone?

how does these movies get the green light ,it make me want to get a cam corder and do a movie or go to film school,

even though you laugh for the wrong reason,these types of movie are a insult to intelligence as well as a comedy

When looking back, I start to realize how good this movie was. When I first started watching this movie, it came to the scene when Boo was fighting the four guys in the street and did an awesome array of kung fu moves that closely resembled Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan. His fighting style was excellent, you can see that Boo the character is a sixth degree black belt, from his laser sharp punches, to his lighting fast kicks that could knock out a full grown hyena, not to forget his super human jumping ability from the help of a trampoline! The plot was a little hard at first because I got lost from time to time, but the acting and the fighting scenes pulled me back into it. I loved the gun scene when they killed the leaders brother, which by the way, the gun had no trigger and the knife seemed not to cut the throat of the victim. The sound and picture of the movie was not that great but why criticize when you can point out the positive aspects, like the way Mecca did an unbelievable kick to the kingpin leader. Sometimes I couldn't hear the people talking and sometimes that camera angles were positioned weird but again don't make fun just go with the punches like Boo!Again, the movie was not that great but I do recommend this movie to everyone to watch

the plot had options; the brother of a gang-leader gets killed, the gang-leader wants revenge and sends his men out, to bring in the alleged killers while they try to escape from enemy territory. So far nothing wrong, a bit standard maybe but okay. in this movie, the gang-leader is some sort of religious leader who's main purpose in this movie seems to be making his followers scream "kingpins, till death". After watching them do this for 2 minutes, I kind of got the idea and when they repeated it several times during the movie it really became frustrating. the acting of the main characters wasn't really bad but it did not bring the movie to a higher level either. the action scenes where completely rubbish, guns without triggers, punches that where nowhere near the enemy, knifes that clearly did not penetrate. I'm usually not somebody who notices these details, but in this movie they can't be missed. When it comes to sound effects i think they overdone it. At one point a person is supposedly hit by a arm flying half a meter away from it but it sounded like somebody drove a car in a building.

I recommend everybody to watch this movie. buy lots of alcohol and invite your friend. You will probably laugh the entire movie about everything that sucks.

A Serious Film With Dashes Of Comedy

It's hard to know whether this film is a drama or a comedy. On the one hand, it's serious because the film tries to make the point that living like a thug isn't what you want to do. Yet, the film is sometimes funny with the over the top martial arts scenes and it seems to overshadow the point of the film. Maybe the director, Greg Carter, wanted to show the dark thug life in a lighter light so that people would get the point. Either way, the film is entertaining and funny at times and the point that Greg Garter is supposedly willing to make is not lost on its audience.

I think because napoleon an ex member of outlaws a group who 2pac was part of, you would naturally assume the film was gangster. 2pac was the definition of gangster on and off camera, I think napoleon being in the movie was a way to trap customers, because he has no acting skills whatsoever. I don't think the story line was effective at all, and the sound effects were so poor it's almost comical. I am a bit disappointed in lady of rage cos I think she could have done better than to act in such a poor movie, also some of the actors like the the main characters are actors in teen comedy like sister sister. Don't rent this film with hopes of seeing gangster style action cos it is wanksta wack

For a independent film. This movie was good. Low budget movie it was good. I would say better then good. It made sense. It's a insight on what life in the hood and street codes mean. Being down with your homey's. Doing time for someone. Being heartless. Dealing with the demons. Learning Karate and applying it to your survival. It's a walk in the hood in so many ways. Somethings can't be as raw as real life because you have to make a story that you can follow on the big screen or home entertainment system. Dark movie and deals with frustration, depression and suppression. Also how the hood will keep you under and how trying to change your life is hard to do when you leave in these environments. Bless. I give it 10 cause they put effort into making this lifestyle entertaining enough to be watched but in reality it's scary.

There is no plot, no point and no reason to watch this movie. Just bad bad bad all the way around. The only reason I watched it was for the babe with the big .....well you know. If you want to see a good movie this is not it, watch just about any other B movie and it will be a significant improvement. Dolemite with Rudy Ray Moore kicks this thugs butt.

Finally, someone makes a movie tru 2 life in da hood. Stuff like dis happen in my hood like everyday. It's about a kung fu master who run a clique up in da hood, and a few brothas get caught up in da game when his brotha get killed and these brothas is thought to have done it. The kung fu master send his clique to find tha innocent brothas, and they on da run. Dis same thing happen to my cousin last month.

Tha acting is good. It talk all about da struggle in da hood to get out of da hood, and all da kung fu fights in da hood. The main guy got moves, but da kung fu master think he killed his brotha, so he wanna kill him, but he say "I win, I walk. It's da code."

Finally, someone make a movie tru 2 life and tru 2 da code in da hood. Play on, playa! Keep making movies!
