Yeah, it's awful

Much as it pains me to admit it, Fatboy from Lisbon is dead-on right about "Outlaw." It pains me even more to say I wrote the original screenplay on which the movie was based. We started out with a tight little crime thriller, the underlying theme of which was redemption (which is really why Conner takes on the assignment). Between script and screen - and Michael Madsen signed on because of the original script - it turned into this nightmare, that I sincerely hope very few people ever see. It should be understood, though, that, had we had a decent producer, instead of the third-rate pimp who called himself a producer on this film, things would've been much different. Bo Svenson, Michael Madsen, and all the cast and crew, approached their work as the total professionals they are, but they stood not a chance - nor did my script - in the face of the lying, grasping, mercenary bad taste that haunted the production from the front office virtually from Day One. Such is the nature of independent film making (in some isolated cases). It's not the work of Michael Madsen, Bo Svenson, or myself that should be avoided in the future, but anything produced by Giants Entertainment so long as David Dadon "runs" it (if he hasn't already run it into the ground). Therein lies the true horror. But now that I've taken on directing films myself, I'll do a remake of this one day - with the original script and intent - and hopefully this time we'll get it right. Underrated

Reminiscent of a 1940s Robert Mitchum film noir, Michael Madsen is the phlegmatic antihero hired to locate the murderer of a mob boss. I have to disagree with one reviewer - I thought the performances of all of the actors, and particularly the principals, were good. If you are a fan of Michael Madsen, you'll like him in this film. Bo Svenson's acting, as always, is top-notch. Svenson has played some delightful villains (and he is one here). I've seen him in many roles over the years, and never has he appeared to be "phoning in" a performance.

Overall, this is not a bad movie; I think perhaps production and editing issues kept it from being as terrific as it could have been, as happens all too often. Still, definitely worth renting.

Great Movie!!!!!

I loved this movie. This was a Great Movie!!! It kept me in suspense all the way through!! It was excellent and I loved the characters. I loved the dialogue. What was not to love? It will be a film I'll watch over and over again. Great action adventure the way it should be done. It was another great film with Bo Svenson! I highly recommend it for wonderful entertainment. The Outlaw was the kind of movie-making that delights action adventure junkies. For those of you who like to follow an actors career, Bo Svenson delivers yet again. With so many action adventure films to watch, The Outlaw should be in your collection. An adrenaline rush without the caffeine hangover!!

i think its a film worth watching

"This movie is contemporary film noire at its best.

I read that it was shot for under $800,000 in 16 days. Amazing! Too bad the producer added five minutes to the director's cut which had a running time of 91 minutes and was terrific! Later I also saw the producer's version. Some producers should stick to raising money."

maybe people should watch it and really understand film before they jump to making comments about what is good and what is not. i mean look how many movies are out these days that get decent reviews, when in fact they are 'crap'
