"Terminator 2: Judgment Day," renamed "T2: The Arcade Game" for home conversions, was originally designed as an arcade on-rails light-gun shooter based on
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991). Playing as reprogrammed T-800s and using a combination of machine guns, missile launchers, and shotguns, players blast their way through seven levels set during the film's future and present timelines into to defeat Skynet and save John Connor. Console ports of the arcade game designed for the Sega Genesis (Master System) and Super Nintendo also support light-gun peripherals (the Menacer and Super Scope, respectively), while the computer and handheld versions use a movable target.
