Excellent inside in prostitution in France in 1975
Hans-5623 October 2009
I had never heard about this movie anywhere. I downloaded it from the internet. I expected to see another sleazy 70's movie and just wondered how much time I would spend on it.

But this is no sleaze at all. Actually this is an excellent documentary. There are interviews with quite a number of Parisian hookers and it is all genuine, I am sure! There are a few extras thrown in: a few scenes of Claude Janna and her clients and scenes of a big conference of prostitutes in Paris. The scenes of Janna are luckily no hard core and are no sexploitation. The scenes of the conference are a good recording of what happened in Europe politically in the '70's, especially in France.

One of the most fascinating parts is where our hooker, Janna, is confronted with a few women working in the clothing industry. Even the director is brilliant indeed.

In my humble opinion there is no better documentary about prostitutes anywhere. It is honest, open and simply excellently made.

The extremely attractive prostitute Claude Janna later spiced up a few hard core movies from 1975 to 1982. Some sources mention her name to be Jocelyne Clairis, but I couldn't get that confirmed.

Oh and my conclusion after watching this splendid documentary: it hasn't changed much, except for the politics.

My appreciation: 8 out of 10.
