Raj Babbar and Smita Patil first time worked toghether in this film and during the making of this film they became close.
Raj Babbar who had no godfather had been having a tough time making it big in HIndi movies. It is rumoured that Amitabh had him booted out of 2-3 movies in the early 1980s. Babbar got his initial movies courtesy popular model Deepak Parashar who was besotted with him. Their chemistry was sizzling. When Smita Patil fell in love with Babbar on the sets of Bheegi Palkein and signed several movies with him, it was also the beginning of a successful career as a leading man. Babbar separated from his wife of many years and moved away from Parashar as well. Destiny snatched Smita away a few years later. Babbar stopped getting leading roles. He made the transition to strong supporting roles and returned to his wife.
Raj Babbar stated that 2 -3 crucial scenes needed to he filmed on his character. It was very important for the film. The producer stated they had no more funds and were not going to film those scenes. Raj Babbar felt the exclusion of those scenes was the reason the film did not do well.
