Apparently the National Film Board of Canada did a bunch of short animated films a decade or so ago to illustrate the UN's charter. Some of these films are quite good, though some (like this one) are also a tad preachy.
The film is made using stop-motion. While not great quality, it's not bad and engages the eye. Without using words, it shows an example of acceptance of others--even when they are quite different like the immigrant child in the film. At first, the kids playing outside laugh at him because he is so very different but through a great act of bravery they all realize that down deep we are all the same. A very true sentiment and a nice message--but perhaps it could have been done in a bit more subtle fashion, as I think most kids will see through this film very quickly and don't know if it will really have much impact on their thoughts or actions.
