Bond silliness
BandSAboutMovies26 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Tont means dumb in Italian and this was amongst the first spoofs of the Eurospy genre.

It's directed by Sergio's younger brother Bruno Corbucci and Giovanni Grimaldi, who are both known for their comedy work.

Lando Buzzanca, who was in Fulci's Operation St. Peter's, stars in this as James Tont and he's up against Goldsinger, with the help of Barbara Ray, Agent SOS 112 (she's played by Evi Marandi from Planet of the Vampires).

During the height of the Eurospy craze, so many Italian films used 007 that United Artists threatened the Italian film with a lawsuit. This movie wasn't given a U.S. release, but did play American television as part of a package called "Continental European film" by RKO. However, United Artists and Danjaq prevented this movie from being shown.

How's that for Bondmania?

Rebuff Bond parody!
RodrigAndrisan21 November 2017
Lando Buzzanca is trying hard to be funny but he is not. Only the scene when crossing the Atlantic Ocean with the propeller in the ass and the briefcase in hand is more successful, more funny. Bruno Corbucci and Giovanni Grimaldi tried to make a parody after "Goldfinger", but the gags are generally weak. In my humble opinion, when you want to make a parody after something, you have to invest a better story than the original subject and you have to use much better actors. Which is not the case with this Tont.

Jaw-dropping rip-off
Leofwine_draca21 September 2021
A scattershot James Bond parody by the Italians. Very lowbrow and bottom of the barrel fare, enlivened as usual by the Italian actresses who have much more glitz and glamour than the blokes. This one opens with a jaw-dropping rip-off of Bassey's 'Goldfinger' before descending into outrageous copying and tedium. A sample of a typical scene is the bad guy going "Dr...No...Yes...No...", it's that kind of film.
