Well made but the Kennedy angle didn't work for me

Warning: Spoilers
This film is set in 1963 in England and is life as seen through the eyes of a 13 year-old during one short span of his life. The child's initials are JFK and he just so happens to become infatuated with an older woman whose name as Jackie--an interesting coincidence. This lady, unfortunately, is already dating JFK's older (and nasty) brother plus there is such a huge difference in ages, he seems to realize it won't work--but he's infatuated anyways.

Technically speaking, this short was exceptional. The acting performances were very good, the black and white cinematography worked well, they did a good job trying to replicate the look of 1963 and the dialog was exceptional. However, the story was not something I particularly liked whenever they tried to introduce the John Kennedy angle--it just didn't seem to fit in that well with the rest of the film and seemed unnecessary. The overall plot (minus the Kennedy one) was really, really good and deserved to be allowed to stand on its own. While the older brother was a total jerk, it took acting to be that evil and the overall picture of the English family was lovely and didn't need any Kennedy connection. Just my two cents worth.
