This promotional film for
Operation Crossbow (1965) gives the historical background for the movie's plot. First we see actual footage of
Robert H. Goddard's rocket experiments in the New Mexico desert in the 1930s. The U.S. government does not think rockets have much use in warfare. Germany, however, buys copies of Goddard's patents and use them to set up their own rocket program, which is shown in captured German film. We then see scenes from the feature film, in which the allies attempt to sabotage Germany's rocket industry.
