Restored by the Library of Congress, and presented there in 2001 with soundtrack recorded from the original Edison cylinders used in the Kinetophone system.
Based on the Wagner opera.
This film, at least at the early screenings in New York City, used the Edison Kinetophone sound process, allowing the singers and music to be heard during the screening of the film.
This film was in eight parts, possibly eight separate reels originally, showing eight scenes from Wagner's opera "Parsifal", and designed to be shown with synchronized phonograph records, using Edison's Kinetophone system.
