. . . it is difficult to determine whether this is the same thing as and proper page for the Aesop and Son entry from The Bullwinkle Show, which debuted with THE LION AND THE MOUSE on Thursday, January 14, 1960, though for some unknown reason this site gives Aesop and Son a 1976 date elsewhere. The four-minute running time mentioned here is in the ball park of The Bullwinkle Show's take on this fable, which clocks in at 5 minutes, 35.44 seconds. The Bullwinkle Show's "Moral of the Story" is "If you want to be a king, expect to get crowned," referring to the spouse abuse inflicted upon the title mouse by his female partner. Strangely enough, the two big game zoo procurers who cart away Leo the Easily Bamboozled Lion are named Fred and Barney, just like the Flintstones.
