British Style Comedy From the Colonies
chelsea_blue-ever2 May 2007
I recently caught this show here in the UK and I have to say I quite like it. It reminds me a lot of Little Britain only very, very, very Canadian and believe it or not just as funny and perhaps even slightly odder.

I know what you're thinking, "odder than Little Britain and just as funny" you must be daft, but I swear it's true. Maybe it's because the comedy has a vaguely "English" feel to it (I swear Vyvyan from The Young Ones makes a cameo getting chased out of a shop) but everyone has that funny Canadian accent.

I didn't get all of the ice hockey jokes but all in all, great comedy from the colonies. Though I do have to wonder what they're putting in the maple syrup over there to come up with some of this stuff.

Cheers

Sketch comedy at its finest.

Slightly Bent TV continues the tradition of great Canadian sketch comedy. It's funny like SCTV and Kids in the Hall. Imagine Monty Python mixed with South Park and you've got some idea of the humour. If you like off-the-wall, intelligent comedy, Slightly Bent TV is the show for you.

does canadian television have to be this bad?

i saw this show a couple of times a few years ago on the comedy network. it looks like it is shot in someone's back yard and poorly at that. i'm sure these people are nice but i still have to give the show a thumbs down. the writing isn't really there and the costumes and sets makes it look embarassingly amateurish. it will probably never air again so my comments don't matter.
