Fast Mail, Northern Pacific R.R. (1897)
Edison short runs just under thirty-seconds and pretty much just shows a train going past a camera. The camera stays in one place as the train is shown passing but we also see several people standing by the tracks waving at the train as it goes by. This was part of the Northern Pacific Railroad Series, which was produced by Edison throughout the late 1890s. There's certainly nothing overly special about this film in terms of entertainment but it goes manage to be entertaining just so one can see certain things from this era. Of course there's the old time train but it's also fun seeing what the people were wearing at the time and the fact that they're all standing way too close to the tracks.
