Two of the foes Graham encounters - the snake and the lion - can be killed, but the game awards more points for dealing with them non-violently, similarly to the first game King's Quest: Quest for the Crown (1984).

Unlike the witch from the first game King's Quest: Quest for the Crown (1984), Hagatha cannot be killed either by pushing her into the cauldron or in any other way. In fact, of all the wicked witches in King's Quest series - Hagatha is the only who cannot be killed or otherwise rendered harmless.
If the dwarf steals anything from Graham, the stolen item can be retrieved - unlike in the first game King's Quest: Quest for the Crown (1984).
