Made good laughter
deickemeyer14 October 2017
A farce comedy that comes after a noise in the house. Auntie (Alice Washburn) thinks it is burglars. It was a mousetrap that, in springing, stumbled. Edward Boulden, the family's hopeful but careless son, had come home late, rather drunk, and placed it where it was likely to fall. Aunty's cries waken the whole family (William Wadsworth and Mrs. C.J. Williams with the children) and there's a comical burglar hunt in which Edward O'Connor, the cop on the beat, assists. The picture doesn't reach any grand height of fun; but made good laughter and seemed to please the audience very well indeed. It is excellently photographed and commendably handled in all ways. The script is by Mark Swan. - The Moving Picture World, August 9, 1913
