At around 58 minutes Jackie explains that Miss Alvarez would not use the safe since she knew someone whose banknotes had been burned to ashes in one during a fire. Inspector Duval remarks that that would not happen to diamonds. Wrong! Diamonds are carbon and will burn if the temperature is great enough.
