Storyline
Plot Summary |
To save the city of Argos, Myrtis, a beautiful maiden, is selected by the high priest for sacrifice. After taking leave of her father and lover, she is lead to the sacrificial tree to await the will of the deity. Shortly afterward, the high priest, Crates, steals out to her, and, inflamed with passion, offers to save her life. Her lover, Amyntas, who has been watching in concealment, however, rushes out, and with a dagger, strikes the wicked priest to the ground. Hand in hand the lovers then go to the temple, and there it is decided that the blood of the high priest is sufficient sacrifice. Written by Moving Picture World synopsis |
