Yesteryear's ace writer Sachin Bhowmik passed away earlier today. It is learnt that the writer/ director had been ailing for sometime and succumbed to the same. Sachin started his writing career with the film Lajwanti in 1958 and followed it up with films such as Brahmachari, Aradhana, Pehchan and Aan Milo Sajna. More recently, he has written films like Koi... Mil Gaya, Kisna and Krrish. He also directed a film called Raja Rani in 1973 starring Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore. Says Subhash Ghai, "It's my great personal loss......he was most interested in films but never a filmy as a person. A legend in screenplay writing since 1960… He led me from Karz to Yuvvraaj in over 10 films. Some of them were Karz, Karma, Khalnayak, Taal and Yuvvraaj....A true gentleman all the way." Bollywood Hungama sends out heartfelt condolences to Sachin's family and friends.
