The letter received by Eleni from Dimitris in the second half of the film is dated 17th November 1969. The film was released in 1970 and was therefore filmed and produced during Greece's dictatorship (1967-1974). The 17th of November 1973 would be a very important date for the dictatorship as the events of the Athens Polytechnic Uprising on that date would lead to the end of the dictatorship. After which a home grown terrorist organization would form with the name 17November. The date on the letter is pure coincidence, but to most Greek viewers the date is very noticeable as the date is very much present in the minds of Greeks.
