Lee Ann is a free spirit who refuses to be tied down by any job or relationship. The one constant in her life is Angelo, her sometimes roommate who she'll always return to. Angelo, in love with Lee Ann, deals as best he can with her unpredictability, and accepts her into his apartment after she disappears for months at a time. One of these times, she returns pregnant.
