Kirk Cameron, Clarence Gilyard Jr., Brad Johnson, and Chelsea Noble in Left Behind: The Movie (2000)

Goofs

Left Behind: The Movie

Edit

Continuity

When Buck is checking Dirk's e-mail from Alan, look closely when it shows the flashing e-mail. It reads that the e-mail was sent May 23 2000, and this scene takes place after the rapture.
In the "secret rendezvous" scene with Buck and Dirk, Dirk's cigarette first appears lit, then unlit.
The vase (which she had intended to throw at Buck) disappears from Chloe's hands between shots.
Rayford Steele flies for Pan-Continental Airlines, but the tail of his 747 is painted in British Airways colors.

Factual errors

The flags flying outside the real United Nations building are of the member nations. The ones shown are of Canada's provinces.
Buck was supposedly able to make it between Chicago and New York in a Cessna 172 with Ken Ritz in a short amount of time. A flight in this aircraft, even with a 10 knot tailwind, would take over 7 hours with at least one stop to refuel.
The U.S. Army loudspeaker says "martial law", when this is not a recognized legal term in the U.S.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

The rapture supposedly occurred during the night (Rayford's plane was only a few hours from sunrise, and Irene and Raymie were in bed). Although Chloe encountered the accident in daylight, it could well have happened some time before she arrived.
Rayford was supposedly piloting a 747 on the flight to London. While the original 747 models required a flight engineer (there was none on this flight), that position is no longer necessary with the all-digital 747-400, which began shipping in 1989.

Revealing mistakes

Some U.S. Army National Guard soldiers have goatees and beards, which are a violation of military regulations.
After the anti-Christ shoots the two men at the UN, he begins to give a speech. In the background, one of the "dead" men can be seen blinking his eyes.
When Carpathia shoots Stonegal and Cothran, he uses a semiautomatic pistol, which would normally automatically eject the cartridge casing upon discharge, in order to chamber the next round. This does not occur on either of the two discharges shown. In movies, they frequently use "Non-guns" to fire blanks, which do not (normally) eject the cartridge casings upon discharge.

Anachronisms

The U.S. Army is shown driving jeeps, which were replaced with Humvees by the time the movie takes place.

Boom mic visible

Just before Buck boards the plane after meeting with Dirk, he is pondering outside of his office at the network building.. and a boom mic briefly bounces down into the shot.

Character error

When Bruce, Chloe, and Ray are trying to convert Buck Williams, Bruce Barnes quotes from the book of Daniel, but says "Daniel 9 chapter 27" There are only 12 chapters in the book of Daniel. Bruce Barnes should have said "Daniel 9 verse 27.
