When Diane Agostini realizes that she's lost one of her stud earrings, the remaining one switches from one ear to the other. In the shots before she realizes she's lost an earring, it can clearly be seen that she's wearing the remaining earring in her left ear. In the following shot where she actually realizes that she's lost an earring, her left ear is suddenly bare and that's the one she feels.

Early in the movie a geologist is on the phone with city officials describing the first quake, he can clearly be heard using the term "trembler" which apt as it may sound is not the correct term for seismic activity. He meant "temblor". Later another geologist describes the foreshock as an event that geologist's call an "amplitude". Amplitude is a measure of wave magnitude and is not used in that sense, in fact it would be a meaningless description without quantification of some sort.

When the first tremor hits the day before the quake, Diane is on the phone with her father. Since the tremor goes unnoticed, the utensils above are moving, but the lantern doesn't move at all.
