Imagine a film about a Disney Princess turning into a serial killer Warning: Spoilers
A horror film inspired by Elizabeth Báthory, the infamous countess accused of murdering girls and young women in order to bathe in her blood, a tale which might or might be not a legend, but here is handled in a rather atypical manner.

First of all, it seems Viktor Kubal was going for some sort of fairytale approach, and as such, it also includes several fantastic elements, which can only be believable through animation.

As weird as this sounds, at first "The Bloody Lady" is depicted almost as a Disney princess, frolicking in the forest accompanied by some animals. But after she literally gives her heart to man she falls in love, the plot starts verging into a much darker territory.

The first thing to notice is the animation style, which is extremely simple, both for the characters and the sceneries. In addition to that, despite being a horror film, for whatever reason this movie also includes several gags that almost feel as something from a cartoon aimed at kids (Mostly from the animals) and a couple of bizarre anachronisms.

In that sense, it kinda reminds me of the more serious works from Osamu Tezuka, which kinda did a similar thing, alternating tragedies or shocking scenes with cutesy moments and silly gags.

Definately an interesting film, though its unusual tone might not be for everyone. Rather than trying to be as realistic as possible, it embraces a cartoonish silliness to tell a gruesome tale of murder which is also part fairytale with cute animals.
