Plot Summary |
When Jack Brandon learns that Mr. Carlton, the president of the bank where he works, has embezzled funds, he accepts the blame and heads for the Canadian Northwest because he believes that he has only a year to live. After learning that his health is good after all, Jack joins the Mounted Police and discovers gold on the land he has staked out. When Carlton's daughter Barbara and son Burt arrive in town to participate in the gold strike, Burt denounces Jack as a thief and he resigns his post. Barbara marries the wealthy Jules La Roche, who has abandoned his wife, but is rescued by Jack when she discovers that the marriage is bigamous. The dying Carlton sends a telegram that clears Jack's name, and an Indian kills Jules, leaving Jack and Barbara free to marry. Written by AFI |
