Guns are not toys

Although this special was made over thirty years ago there is nothing "dated" about it. It is still just as important and as topical as todays headlines because it deals with the subject of gun violence among children. This episode was made years before school shootings became and epidemic so we need to heed its message now more then ever. The story follows a group of ordinary mischevious boys who could be your son or the kids your son goes to school with. It builds up gradually showing class pictures being taken and then one of the boys gets hold of a gun and in a tragic game of chicken shoots the other dead. This story is based on fact and the father of the murdered child in question delivers a powerful message about gun violence and what we must do to prevent it.
