If Isham Jones has come down to us today he is best known for composing some of the great ballads of the last century. It Had To Be You, I'll See You In My Dreams, and The One I Love Belongs To Somebody Else, all with lyrics by Gus Kahn, will be sung as long as there is life on planet earth. But in this Vitagraph musical short from Warner Brothers whom we meet is Isham Jones, leader of one of the great bands of the sweet musical era of the Early Thirties.
I might have liked it better had we had Jones performing one of these classics I mentioned before, but instead we get a couple of songs that didn't quite have the staying power. The two musical numbers are You're Just a Dream Come True and Why Can't This Go On Forever, done in the sweet music style of the time.
Still the short does provide a face to a name we only see on music credits, one of the best composers of the last century, Isham Jones.
