A story about a lady (May) who lives in a house with three guys in a platonic setting(one is named Brad Pitt. I'm not joking). They all decide to start a bar business after they lose their jobs. They deal with the usual nuisances, like overhead, triads, one meddlesome girlfriend. Shu Qi is also in this movie, with the unlikely name of Boy. She is kind of wasted here, she has been much better in other films (It bears no resemblance to this film, but try out "Milennium Mambo"). Maybe its me, but the characters are just not all that interesting. May is pretty and deserves better. I feel a good movie could have been made with more sexual tension between May and the three guys, but it didn't work out that way. If you like romantic comedy you may like this, but I've seen much, much better. Not horrible, just run of the mill.

Just because I like it doesn't mean it isn't one of the best...

I saw this a while back, but so much of it still sticks in my mind. I remember watching the movie looking for Qi Shu, but releasing that I didn't reallly care all that much that she was there. Her character is an incredible strong point for the film. However, the film doesn't revolve around her, as I wish I did. Essentially, it is a stardard love polygon starring some not so bad talent. If you can get into those types of movies, then you will easily enjoy it. And if you're a fan of HK cinema in general, you'll enjoy all the american references, like the fact the main characters have english names.

All in all, it's an enjoyable feel good light-hearted romance drama. That enough adjectives for you? Now go rent it, or buy if it's cheap.
