The song "Yaari Haij Phoolon Se" was sampled from Cerrone's song " Love In".
This film was a remake of the Telugu film "Neramu Siksha" (1973), which was an adaptation of Fyodor Dostoyevsky's novel "Crime and Punishment". The Telugu film was also remade in Tamil as "Needhikku Thalaivanangu" (1976), starring Sivaji Ganesan.
Raj Kiran stated that after his first film Kaagaz Ki Nao, he sat at home with no work. He took a offer to work in the gulf. But the opportunity proved to be a hoax as the sponsors were frauds who took all his money. He received a offer to work with Rajshree and he took it. The film was a box office disaster. But he was able to sign several B grade films after the film released. All the big banners only signed him for side roles. No big producer was signing him for a solo release film. He stated the worst was signing films with small unheard of producer's. They would have a extra 50 lakhs to burn and would decide to make a film to try their luck in films. They would have no knowledge, conviction, passion, commitment and sincerity towards making a film. When his films started to flop, the producer's budget would shrink from 50 lakhs to 30 lakhs over night. A producer should never turn nervous. But in his case these producer's were just in it to turn a profit.

Raj Kiran stated " I never really arrived on the scene like say Govinda or any of the young stars like today. I did not have a god father to make a proper film to introduce me. But yes, I was appreciated good actor who could deliver the goods. But sadly all my solo hero film's flopped. Shikshaa and Kaagaz Ki Nao did very bad. This dampened my spirits and and I took to the bottle. Not that I did'nt have a penchant for drinking before, I did. My drinking caused me to put on all that extra weight. I was upset with the way my career was going and it led to depression and dejection. I needed a hit director to make a solo hero film with me. It just never happened".
