Romeo Must Die

Edit

Continuity

When Han leaves Trish's place and beats up Maurice and his gang, we see Maurice with a cut that is bleeding on the right side of his lip. Later, when Han is persuaded to play football with Mac and the rest, we see Maurice with a scar on the left side of his lip.
After Trish runs on the truck and kicks the motorcycle fighter, she turns from the force of the kick. In the next shot she is shown falling straight back onto the metal rod.
The clouds in the sky during the kung fu football scene.
When Han first finds the note of the addresses of the waterfront properties, he promptly scrunches the paper. Later, when Trish looks at it, it is once again in perfect condition.
When Han follows Trish from the shop to home, and Maurice arrives, he parks the car untidily, but it's neatly against the curb when Han takes it.

Factual errors

When the car is being chased by the motorcyclists, one motorcyclist (BMW) accelerates and pulls up to the left side of the car multiple times with the gun in the throttle hand.
During the Prison scene, the guards talk in Mandarin, All jails and prisons are operated by the Hong Kong Correctional Services and as such the language spoken is Cantonese not Mandarin as spoken by the guards.
Prison Guards are seen holding AK47 rifles, this is incorrect as all Hong Kong Law Enforcement Agencies use American or German made weapons.
Hong Kong prisons are managed by the Hong Kong Correctional Services and not by the Hong Kong Police (Officer's in blue) as seen in the movie.
The BMW GS motorcycle is a parallel twin engine bike, and the Triumph Tiger an inline 3 cylinder. Neither bike is capable of revving to the high rpm depicted. The sounds are from inline 4 engines, and at least 50-60% faster revving than either a parallel twin of inline three is capable of.

Incorrectly regarded as goofs

When entering the garage, Han deactivates the car alarm to find the car (light goes on). Immediately after that the main character triggers the alarm again (lights again). In cheap alarms, this might reactivate the alarm, but in other models, this unlocks the passenger door (and a third activation might open the trunk). Since he in fact entered through the passenger door, this is what happened.

Revealing mistakes

When Han Sing exits the prison in Hong Kong, the guard that opens the main gates is carrying an AK-47 rifle without a magazine in it.
During the explosion of the barge. Kai's face is fully illuminated on the both sides of his face which is not possible.
In some shots the American football that Han is holding is obviously computer generated.
When Han fires the hose at the bodyguards, one of them gets hit, flies through the air, lands on the ground, and then briefly swings back up in the air again, clearly indicating that wires were used.
When the camera angle changes to show the back of Maurice's head in the football scene, it is an obvious stand-in, Maurice seems to have lost weight for a few moments.

Crew or equipment visible

In the motorcycle/car chase after Han and Trish find the dead Chinese. The reflection of the camera truck pulling the Merc can be seen in the visor of the motorcyclist.
As Han's father shoots himself in the head, the strobe light used to mimic the gun blast can be seen over Han's shoulder.
When Han is being tackled by Maurice, and he is flying backwards through the air in slow-motion, you can clearly see that he's wearing protective padding.
During the end fight when Han is kicked through the lattice, the camera follows him crashing to the ground, it pans too far revealing a second camera covered in a tarp filming the opposite angle.
Visible safety cable attached to Colin as he falls out of the building.

Errors in geography

The Harbour Centre, one of the most well known skyscrapers in Vancouver can briefly be seen when Roth's private helicopter flies away after after he was chased off by Mac on the rooftop.
The film is supposedly set in Oakland, California. There are a number of indications that this isn't Oakland, including the high-rise apartment buildings typical of Vancouver, BC, but the most obvious are scenes in "Oakland's" waterfront that feature spectacular mountains in the near background. Also pointed out are BC Transit buses and Canadian flags.

Plot holes

No one ever ties or handcuffs the hero when he is unconscious, despite being well aware that he is dangerous.
