The Wood (1999)

Goofs

The Wood

Edit

Continuity

At Tanya's apartment, Roland throws his tie at Slim when he attacks him. In the following shot, he is seen wearing it.
As the police are pulling them over, Stacey has ditched his red gang bandana in the master shot, but it reappears in an over-the-shoulder shot into the back seat.
When Mike is helping escort Roland from Tanya's apartment he is also holding a coffee mug. When he turns around to say something to Tanya he's all of a sudden holding the coffee pot instead.

Anachronisms

When Stacy is driving the boys to the dance, Too $hort's "Freaky Tales" can be heard playing in the background. The setting for this part of the movie is 1986, and "Freaky Tales" wasn't released until July 20, 1987.
There is Wrigley's Winterfresh gum, first released in the 1990s, in the convenience store in 1986.
Stickers and makeshift banners are covering the 90s era marquees of the refrigerators in the corner store in the 1986 flashback; however, behind the classic Mountain Dew logo stickers, you can still see the late 90s era 7 Up logo.

Audio/visual unsynchronised

When Alicia is singing along to "If This World Were Mine" at the dance, her lips are out of sync with the music.

Errors in geography

St. Bernard High School is actually located in Playa del Rey neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, not Inglewood.

Character error

When older Slim and Mike shake hands at the mini market, Slim clearly misses Mike's hand the first time and almost misses it the second time.
At the dance when Mike is apologizing to Alicia, he clearly messes up his line.
