A sleazy campaign manager convinces a cartoonist to create a cartoon character, Peter President, who becomes the President of the United States. Before long, problems arise, and the cartoonist becomes disillusioned by the campaign manager's plans for the president.
It's really a shame that this film isn't more well known... and judging from this page, one would assume it's a Bugs Bunny short (Bugs has a cameo). Although a few of the jokes seem a little dated, most of them still ring true today. The combination of live-action and animation are cheap but effective, the characters are lovable, the sly humor and easy to catch inside jokes are gold, and the theme for Bubonics is annoyingly catchy (I've found myself singing it on more than one occasion). All in all, it's a fun way to kill 23 minutes, and I can't recommend it enough. No clue if it's appeared on DVD yet, but was issued on a VHS compilation called "Cartoongate."
