Good local color

Lead male (Jerry) does well as authentic backwoods Vermonter, but some of the other acting is fairly awful; almost laughable (such as the 3 FBI agents). Otherwise, good local color, and a real laugh when Jerry finds out what he's eating.

Mud Season - Definition

1) The fifth season of the year which falls sometime between winter and spring in states such as Vermont where most of the roads are dirt, winters are long and cold and the permafrost goes down about three feet. What happens is the roads begin to thaw and as they do the dirt turns into mud and sooner or later everyone gets stuck.

2) An Award Winning feature film about a Vermont woodsman who falls in love with a Chinese woman and their figurative sinking in the mud of life just as their emotional winters begin to thaw.

people stuck in the wrong place at the wrong time

I watched mud season with the expectation of it being a low end indie film. Quite the opposite, it is the kind of movie that gives hope to film. The FBI agents are a bit weak, however, everyone else is on the money. If you've spent any time with country folk, you realize the mannerisms, expressions, conversation is perfect. A well done movie which deserves to be seen.

Good cinematography, editing, acting, directing, music, etc. I look forward to more from everyone involved.
