When the big bass villain kidnaps Juliet, members of the audience help Romeo punish him in this well-done Terrytoon operetta.
This cartoon looks like there were people who had formerly worked for the Fleischers. There are a couple of gags that were lifted from the Screen Songs, the leonine conductor looks a lot like one used in SHE REMINDS ME OF YOU from the previous year. Also in common with other Terrytoons in 1935, movement is much more fluid than previously. All of this could have been coincidence, but given the lack of credit for the animators, in-betweeners and backgrounders at this stage, I'm free to speculate.
Philip Scheib's score is fine for this one and forms the basis of another well-executed cartoon. Terry rarely if ever led the animation field, but his studio could produce an amusing short when they tried.
