This cartoon short was used for many years by Audience Studies, Inc. (ASI), better known as "The Preview House" in Hollywood. The company was a market research firm that used its 400-seat theatre on Sunset Blvd. to record audience reactions to movies, television shows, and commercials. The cartoon was always shown at the beginning of the evening's program as a "control" to gauge how the audience was feeling that night. It also gave the audience member a chance to operate the dial attached to their seat. Swing the dial pointer to Very Good or Very Dull or anywhere in between. Responses were recorded on an early analog computer which produced charts for ASI's clients.
