The citizen kane of racist documentaries
ciaran199721 August 2014
The 20's had 'The General', the 30's had 'Gone with the wind', the 40's had 'Citizen Kane', the 50's saw 'Ben-Hur', the 60's received 'The Good, The Bad and The Ugly', the 70's had 'The Godfather', the 80's got 'Raging Bull' and in my opinion the best films of the 1990s was 'Please kill me, I'm a f*ggot n*gger Jew'. Simply put this is one of the all time greats and thoroughly deserves the attention it receives. It's just a wonder as to how this is yet to be put on the national film registry and even more shocking as to how it did not receive an Oscar nomination. Whereas some people may find this film offending I personally admire it's controversial theme and it will be remembered by historians as an othello for our times.

Funkin Wagnals!

Great tracking shot in the beginning. Cinematography is second to none. A remarkable film about discrimination that should be mandatory material for children to watch prior to advancement to middle school.

Initially Angry. Now I'm a Supporter!

I'm not a racist, homophobe or antisemite. I saw this title and was shocked and appalled!

But then I decided to bite the pillow and actually watch it...

PKMIAFNJ was way ahead of it's time. The cinematography stands up today. The themes are still relevant and the people interviewed raised so many interesting points that I never cared to think about for myself.

It sounds dumb but I genuinely believe that if every person watched this documentary then we'd all fair better in life.

If you are a homosexual black person who is also Jewish (which turns out is far more common than I realised) then you need to see this film and you need to see it pronto!

This documentary warmed my heart and brought a smile to my face.

Thank you for making this!

Masterpiece.

This amazing film contains one of the best storylines out of any movie I've watched. The pacing, the story, and the execution is phenomenal, Leonardo DiCaprio truly outdid himself as the main character, Morgan Freeman also played his role very well. The film was way ahead of its time, and its visuals still impress today. In all honesty, this might be one of Stanley Kubrick's best films, and it's sad he passed away only 4 years later.

A Gem of an Era, a True Masterpiece
Ian_Washburn15 September 2022
This BBC documentary has everything you would expect. It has a B, another B, and a long C.

It borrows inspiration from an aged piece, bringing new light, and much to some fans' chagrin: now in color!

The story follows a rather stingy, niggardly rail riding hobo who carries his handkerchiefed sack over his shoulder on a bundle of sticks as he makes his way west across the nation meeting many faces along the way, many of which show their contempt openly at our man's constantly whiny voice and demeanor.

PKMIFNJ is riveting, a moment captured in history, a must watch family feature that will be beloved forever; a wholesome cult classic.

My favorite movie
Film-gourmet20 July 2023
This movie stands as a testament to experimental cinema, a gem that perhaps not everyone will be able to appreciate, but one that offers an unparalleled experience to those who can.

This short, 10-minute film might initially strike you as obscure, with its seemingly simple black and white footage of a woman trimming her pubic hair. But do not let the surface simplicity deceive you, for beneath it lies a profound exploration of the human condition.

The accompanying narration, delivered in a robotic tone, at first feels distant, almost alienating. However, upon repeated viewings, one starts to discern the subtle underlying themes. It is an abstract reflection on identity, taboos, and the often ignored facets of our society.

The stripped-down visual and the clinical audio deliver an impactful juxtaposition, a raw and unfiltered experience that straddles the line between art and reality. The stark black and white imagery adds to the visual depth, bringing a sense of timelessness to the narrative.

The film's power lies in its ability to draw you in, to hook you not by providing easy answers, but by posing intriguing questions. Just like the famous quote from French poet Paul Valéry, "A poem should not mean. But be", this film exists in its own realm, seeking not to provide finite interpretations, but to evoke profound thought and discussion.

While it's true that not everyone might be ready for the potent cocktail of avant-garde techniques that this film presents, those who are will find themselves returning to it time and again, like a moth to a flame. Each viewing reveals a new layer, a fresh perspective, and an augmented appreciation.

The film carries a strong warning though: once you dive into its rich tapestry, it's hard to come out unaffected. It's like a potent substance, addictive, challenging and beguiling in equal measure.

So, viewer discretion is advised. But those willing to take the plunge, ready to challenge their perceptions and open to experience a new form of storytelling, this short film is an unforgettable journey that awaits you.
