- A series of unfortunate events cause Ramu, a young boy, to lose his parents and his legs. He is befriended by Mohan, a boy with visual impairment, and they team up to survive on the streets.
- Mr. Gupta passes away after an accident while on duty, leaving behind his ailing wife and school-going son, Ramnath. Both await for some compensation, and when they are informed that the company does not accept liability for Gupta's death, his wife falls down the stairs. and passes out. When Ramnath goes to fetch a doctor, he is knocked down and run over by a speeding car, losing the use of his left leg. When he returns from hospital, he finds that his mom has passed away, and his landlord has evicted him. Penniless and hungry, he roams the streets of Bombay and befriends a blind young man, Mohan, and both use their talents - playing and harmonica and singing respectively to earn some money. Mohan is on the look-out for his sister, Meena, who works as a Nurse in one of the hospitals and hopes to be reunited with her. Both friends befriend a ailing young girl, Manjula, and hope to get some money from her so that Ramnath can attend school. But fate has other plans for them, Manjula passes away, Meena does get to meet Mohan, but refuses to recognize him as she does not wish to associate herself with a lowly beggar; while Ramnath is arrested by the Police for his alleged involvement with a group of robbers.—rAjOo (gunwanti@hotmail.com)
- The breadwinner of the Gupta family "Mr. Gupta" passes away after a serious accident and his wife too kindly embraced death after that too. Both of them leave a school-going son named Ramnath to fed for himself but he too is handicapped since he is knocked down and run over by a speeding car, losing the use of his left leg. Ramnath is soon, after his parents death is thrown out by the landlord on the outskirts of Bombay. Ramnath stave for a couple of days since he has no money but he soon befriends a young man of his same age, the young man name is Mohan and he has been blind by birth. - School-going Ramnath Gupta alias Ramu is a brilliant student who excel in sports as well as studies. His father passes away in a work related accident leaving him with an ailing mother. Both mother and son hopes to receive some compensation from his workplace quite unfortunately their limited happiness cease when they are informed that his company are not liable to compensate for Mr. Gupta's death. This news does not anger well with Ramu's mother causing her to fall down the stairs immediately passing away while Ramu himself is knock down and run over by a speeding car causing him to lose the use of his left leg. After Ramu's discharged from hospital he now takes the help of a pair of clutch to walk and is evicted by his landlord for failure to pay rent. A homeless, alone and penniless Ramu roams the pavement of Bombay until he rescues and befriend a blind young man named Mohan. Together Ramu and Mohan attempts to sustain a living by playing a mouth organ and singing respectively. Mohan with Ramu's help is trying to locate his sister, Meena, who is employed as a nurse in one of the hospitals. They does manage to locate Meena but she fails to associate herself with a beggar. Together with the help of their singing talent; they both accumulate a lump sum of money to fund Ramu's educational expenses but fate plays a cruel joke on their friendship when Ramu is arrested by the police for associating himself with a group of robbers. Ramu's teacher, Mr. Sharma then comes to his rescue with a condition that he takes up lodging with him which is agreeable to Ramu thus separating the two friends.—gavin (racktoo@hotmail.com)
