A Mediocre Little Drama
235SCOPE28 August 1999
This is a mediocre drama of very little significance. The acting by Hector Alterio and Graciela Dufau is good, as always, but the director shows absolutely no understanding of the medium and frames his film like a public access soap opera, with absolutely no sense of visual style or character. This only compounds the fact that the story of a man who returns to Argentina after living in the United States for years is completely uninteresting and riddled with cliches about "getting old to discover that we've accomplished nothing of value," a favorite theme of Argentine cinema of the last 30 years. A waste of time.
