A Nazi officer arrives in occupied Athens in 1941 and falls in love with a Jewish girl, unaware of her true identity.

At the height of World War II and the German Occupation of Greece, the SS officer, Lieutenant Carl von Stein, moves into the requisitioned house of the esteemed academic, Professor Viktor Kastriotis. As the Nazi soldier crosses paths with the intellectual's beautiful niece, Lisa, a forbidden whirlwind romance against all logic begins, unbeknownst to Carl that the sad-eyed woman is Jewish.
