Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

Profanity

  • Two uses of "Fuck" and frequent usages of words like "Shit" and "Bastard". This was really surprising for a show like Degrassi, and was actually the first time that "Fuck" was said on Canadian TV. A version of the movie also exists that removes most of the language.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Sex & Nudity

  • There is implied sex between Joey and Caitlyn. Earlier in the movie, there are implied sex events between Joey and Tessa, as well as fondling being depicted between them.

Violence & Gore

  • An automobile accident's aftermath is depicted, with injuries to Wheels, severe injuries to Lucy, and an apparently deceased toddler.

Profanity

  • The "f-word" twice in a verbal exchange involving Snake, Joey and Caitlyn. Other profanities are used during the movie.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • At the household grad party, nearly everyone is seen drinking beer, although graduates of high school are typically 17 or 18, and Caitlyn is either 16 or 17 as she worked hard to graduate a year early. In Ontario, since 1979, one has to be 19 to consume or possess alcohol, so virtually all, or all, of the students are illegally doing so.
  • Some students are using marijuana at the household grad party.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Tessa goes to an abortion clinic; it is clear she is following through.
