Nancy's Dream Stick
Tikibone8 November 2006
I wish I could get a copy of this! Believe it or not, I appeared on this show with some friends when I was in college. We auditioned on a Saturday, and they just loved our act, so they put us on live, the next day. It was so much fun. We were just doing it to see if we could get on, and then watch what went on behind the scenes. Don Bleu was a riot. A big flirt. And in the end we got Gang Gonged! Our act.. hard to explain.. but we called ourselves Nancy's Dream Stick. I was the go-go dancer, and my friends Mike and Ralph played voo-doo guitar and lip-synced.

If anyone, has a copy of this last run of the Gong-show, that was under Chuck Barris Productions, before he sold it off, let me know!

Love that Gong Show!

Why was Gong Show great? Because they gave up and coming acts a chance to be seen. They paid good and were very professional, I know because I'm half of the comedy team "Oscar and Bernie" dot com. Bernie was always Gonged for saying some fowl thing, he was gang gonged by "Salt N Pepa" and I did Roy Orbison and didn't get gonged, though, as Roy, I lost by 1 point to an Elvis. Story of Roy's life, always 1 point behind Elvis! Jay Thomas, who was a judge, at the end of the broadcast, while we were all jumping around, looked at me and said ' "You look familiar." I said, "Yes, I was the guy with the bird puppet you gonged. You didn't recognize me without the mustache!" Long Live the Gong Show, may it rise again!
